Wednesday's Picks

Can Devin Harris help the
Nets get past a struggling Hornets team?
Hornets -2 vs Nets: The Hornets come limbing into their match up tonight versus the Nets. Losers of five of their last six and 1-7 ATS the Hornets may not be the safest pick at this time. The Nets are doing no better, as they have also lost five of six. The underdog has had the advantage the last 17 teams these squads have met, the underdog is 11-5-1 ATS. Chris Paul is coming off a 17 point 13 assist game where he saw his team fall to the lowly Timberwolves, don't expect Paul to let them drop another game to a bad team.
The Hornets are a little banged up at this point with Trevor Ariza out. Ariza's replacement Quincy Pondexter struggled, scoring just 4 points on 1-5 shooting. The Hornets are the better team here and are overdue to break out of this slide they have been in.
Pick: Hornets

Magic -1.5 vs Sixers: The Sixers are a hot team and are really coming together under Doug Collins. In their last 11 games they are 8-3 ATS and they are coming off a 34 point win in Atlanta. Orlando has taken 9 out of the last 10 meetings between these two, but this is a different Sixers team. Elton Brand is rejuvenated this season and Jrue Holliday has to be considered for most improved player. With all that said the Magic are not the Hawks and will not over look the Sixers. Teams are not going to overlook the Sixers anymore due to the fact of how well they have been playing. The Magic enter the game fresh off a 16 point victory over the Blakers (Clippers). Of late though the Magic have struggled against the spread going just 2-5. They are struggling to find a way to incorporate Gilbert Arenas as he is trying to find his role coming off the bench. The Sixers have no one to match up with Dwight down low which should be the deciding factor in the game.
Pick: Magic

Season: 15-11-2
