From what I've heard, Chris Broussard broke the news that Lakers and Nuggets have initiated trade talks that would deal Carmelo Anthony for Andrew Bynum and maybe a few others. Anthony has made his desire make the Big Apple his home quite clear. However he probably wouldn't mind playing for the back-to-back world champions and living in Hollywood. If this trade goes down, the Lakers dynasty can carry on into the middle and latter half of the decade even as Bryant ages.
Apparently a major obstacle in this deal is Jim Buss (son of owner Jerry) who has constantly refused to move Bynum, even for Chris Bosh. Hopefully his panic overcomes his man-crush on Bynum. It's time to send the 7-footer with knees of glass on his way. Phil Jackson wants to see how his team fares in Thursdays game against the Celtics before they make any dramatic moves. I'm not going to speculate on how well 'Melo would do in L.A. or NYC unless it happens. We'll see where we he ends up by the trade deadline on the 24th. My guess is he will still be a Nugget.
