Rookie of the year debate

It seems as if the NBA rookie of the year race has become a two horse race and Marcus and I are here to give are predictions on who wins. My vote goes to Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry.  Tyreke Evans did have a remarkable season averaging 20 ppg with 5 rpg and 5 apg. Only three other players in league history accomplished that feet( MJ, Oscar R, and LeBron). That's very impressive company for a rookie to be in. My argument against Evans is that he is not a true point guard, he more of a two guard, secondly i don't believe that he makes his teammates much better. He is not a natural point guard, Evans had more talent around him then Curry yet the Kings only won 25 games.

Now the case for Stephen Curry. Curry averaged 17 ppg, 6 apg and 4.4 rpg, no thats not 20-5-5 but dam near close. Curry didn't even have a true rule with the Warriors in the first half of the season. He dealt with Captain Jack who wanted to be traded from the onset, and if that wasnt enough at the beginning of the year Monta Ellis was not the happiest person to have Curry by his side. Curry did not actually start until January, in the 48 starts after January Curry averaged 21-7-5. Curry also broke the record for three pointers for a rookie all while shooting 43% from three.

I like Tyreke Evans a lot and think he has a lot of potential but when you look at the situation Curry was placed in there really is no argument. A bad coaching situation in Golden State where it got to the point where i began to question if Don Nelson even had a pulse, a front office that is in complete shambles, and a group of guys made up of NBA D-league all stars. The Ball Don't Lie Steph Curry should win ROY.
