73. Miami Dolphins -- John Jerry, OG, Ole Miss
The Dolphins are moving on from Justin Smiley. They've put him on the trading block and that means that John Jerry is going to have a much easier task of finding a job in the Dolphins offensive line. Between Jerry, Nate Garner, and Donald Thomas, there's a good chance that Jerry will win at least one of the two starting guard jobs.
74. Jacksonville Jaguars -- D'Anthony Smith, DT, Louisiana Tech
Jacksonville's draft strategy...take two defensive tackles on a team that only needs one? Are they planning on moving Alualu to LE and Harvey back to RE after saying they were putting him at RE? This makes no sense. Especially with Everson Griffen still on the board.
75. Chicago Bears -- Major Wright, S, Florida
This is a great pick. He's a guy who can be an impact player in the NFL, but Chicago neglects the offensive line and they have a big gaping hole at left guard that has yet to be filled.
76. New York Giants -- Chad Jones, S, LSU
The big thumper at 220 pounds is a strange move for the Giants who still need help at middle linebacker. This may raise a question though about the true health of Kenny Phillips. Some inside the Giants organization are said to be concerned that Phillips will not recover from his knee injury.
77. Tennessee Titans -- Damian Williams, WR, USC
I'm a little surprised by the pick. The Titans already had potential to have a potent offense if Vince Young takes the next step. But with prototypical number one wide-out Kenny Britt, speedster Nate Washington, possession man Justin Gage, and now Amani Toomer styled receiver Damian Williams (along with RB Chris Johnson and TE's Bo Scaife and Jared Cook) the Titans are as deep in the receiving corps. as any team in the game. It all comes down to Vince Young now.
78. Carolina Panthers -- Brandon Lafell, WR, LSU
I think the Panthers were unhappy that Williams didn't fall to them, but they still get one of the WR's who could have gone in the second round for a very nice price. Defensive line is still a big need to address.
79. San Diego Chargers (from San Francisco) -- Donald Butler, ILB, Washington
Butler will likely replace Tim Dobbins who was dealt to Miami in the trade up for Ryan Mathews. Butler has the size for the position, but I'm not sure he's a good enough block shedder to play in a 3-4.
80. Denver Broncos -- J.D. Walton, C, Baylor
The Broncos continue to place an emphasis on improving offensively, which is understandable when you consider their head coaches pedigree, but they still have the oldest defense in football and continue to ignore it.
