My 2010 All-Star starters and reserves.

The starters for the 2011 NBA All-Star gane are announced Jan. 27. Every basketball lover knows that voting process fucking sucks and snubs deserving players of a starting position or a spot on the roster. I bet they're going to vote in Allen Iverson again.


Here's a list of deserving starters and reserves, some of whom wont get the nod thanks to overzealous fans of has-been players.


East
G: Derek Rose, Chicago Bulls
G: Dwayne Wade, Miami Heat
C: Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic
F: LeBron James, Miami Heat
F: Amare Stoudemire, New York Knicks


Picking the East starters is pretty easy, as of right now these are the 5 best players in the East, by far. It's a toss up between Rose and Rondo for the other guard position, but I'm going with Rose. He's the MVP right now and he's moved from no. 5 to no. 3 on my top 10 point guards list (mid-season awards and rankings coming soon). Dwight, Wade and LeBron are a staple in the starting line-up for the East. I'm glad Amare jumped ahead of Garnett in the voting. Get off Garnett everyone. He's not even the best forward on his own team anymore.


Reserves: Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics), Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers), Chris Bosh (Miami Heat), Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls), Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks),  Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks)


Last two out: Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics), Al Horford (Atlanta Hawks)


Rondo and Pierce are a given. Granger has his team in play-off position and should get his second All-Star nod. Noah has had a breakout season and should be the reserve Center, which leaves Horford out. Bosh's numbers have dropped, but it's to be expected playing with the second and third best players in the league. That leaves one last forward spot, which I'm awarding to Josh Smith over Garnett because as it stands, he is the better player and he was totally snubbed last season.


West
G: Kobe Bryant, Los Angles Lakers
G: Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
C: Pau Gasol, Los Angeles Lakers
F: Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks
F: Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder


I don't expect this to be the starting five at all, but this is what it should be. I know fucking Yao is leading the votes for Centers (thanks China) good thing he won't play. Pau is listed as a forward but he's played Center most of the season, and the Lakers pretty much have two Centers starting when Bynum is in. Kobe Bryant has been voted a starter every game since his sophomore season, this season should be no different. Derron Williams is probably just as deserving as CP3 for the starting spot. In fact I think they should move Kobe to forward and start D-Will and CP3, but that's not going to happen.


Reserves: Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets), Monta Ellis (Golden State Warriors), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves), Derron Williams (Utah Jazz), Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs), Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers),


Last  two out:  Zach Randolph (Memphis Grizzlies), Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns)


Kevin Love is a monster, in fact he's in position to start. I don't believe he's a better player than Nowitzki or Durant, but he is dominating the glass the way no other player has this era. Blake Griffin should be the first rookie to make the All-Star team since Yao Ming and the first deserving player to make the all-star team since Duncan. Tim Duncan is on the reserves because the Spurs deserve to be represented and although his numbers have dropped Duncan deserves to represent them.
