Keith Hernandez Falls Asleep On The Job

Sports fans know Keith Hernandez for being apart of the 1986 Mets World Series Championship team (Buckner, Mookie Wilson etc.). Some more intense baseball and sports fans regard him as the best defensive first baseman of all time, winning 11 Gold Gloves. Hernandez also has 5 All Star bids, the 1979 NL MVP (Co, shared with Willie Stargell), another ring from the 1982 St. Louis Cardinals, and of course a guest appearance on Seinfeld on his resume. Despite all of that, his broadcasting career has not been so impressive.

In 2007, Keith Hernandez made a statement about the Padres female massage therapist congratulating then San Diego catcher Mike Piazza after hitting a home run in the dug out. If you have forgotten, this is the exact transcript from the broadcast, "Who is the girl in the dugout, with the long hair? What's going on here? You have got to be kidding me. Only player personnel in the dugout." After Hernandez was informed later in the broadcast that Calabrese was a club employee, he maintained his position, stating, "I won't say that women belong in the kitchen, but they don't belong in the dugout." Maybe he has been incorporating the drug that made him such a great player into his post playing career. No, I'm not talking about steroids here, cocaine was Hernandez's drug of choice. Granted in his defense, I'm thinking this recent screw up was not thanks to a stimulant.

Here is his latest announcing blunder....
