Summer Things

Been gone for a while and a lot has taken place since then. First things first the NBA and the "LeBacle". LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh decided to join forces in South Beach. Since James' announcement that he would join El Heat he has been getting killed by fans and former legends. First off the fans need to press the pause button. Everyone from Cleveland is disgusted by his actions, my question is why? LeBron was never a "Cleveland" guy, he grew up in Akron and was a Bulls fan his whole life, he didn't owe the city a thing. Fans of the Cavs say he is a coward for leaving, how so? No really how so? It shows just how stupid fans are, yea congrats your team finished with the best record the past two seasons but couldn't make it out of the East. LeBron realized that as appealing as Delonte West and Danny Green are they are not going to help him reach his ultimate goal of winning a ring, especially now that Bosh and Wade had teamed up. So it came to "The Decision" and i was not at all surprised by him choosing the Heat. He values winning and realized that staying in Cleveland meant that he would be 31 without a ring. How do i know that, well lets look at it this way, the Heat know had Bosh and Wade two superstars, the Big 3 were still in Boston and are gearing up for their last run, the Bulls are a team on the rise and in two years would most likely have surpassed the Cavs and finally the Knicks as much as I hate them all signs point to them becoming the next super team after Chris Paul said he wants to join. So LeBron made the intelligent decision. He cares more about winning than money, and not once as he ever said he wanted to be "like Mike" he has always said from day one he wants to win that's it, it was the fans and media that put up this bravado of him that he was the next MJ, Kobe wants to be Jordan, not LeBron. So I leave you with this, whats wrong with being the next Magic, because it appears that is what LeBron's career will look like.

  1. Holy shit! This is exactly what I have always been saying. Lebron is not MJ and neither is Kobe, there may never be another MJ. It is unreasonable to expect Lebron to be like Mike when no one else has ever been on his level either. Not only that but every other champ in history (excluding 04 Pistons) won a ring without multiple stars, this includes all 6 Bulls titles. Lebron now has a legit shot at several titles. Magic lost in the finals almost as much as he won and that's never brought up when discussing his legacy. West is 1-8 in finals and that's never discussed in terms of "Mr. Clutch." The media has been responsible for everyone being compared to MJ. Lebron would be the first to say he is not Jordan, I bet Kobe would say that as well. Lebron is an ego maniac and handled the situation horribly but he made the RIGHT decision leaving and the Heat fives him the best shot at being apart of a dynasty and to maybe be the next Magic not MJ that is impossible.

  2. Yeah LBJ never wanted to be the next MJ. Even though he was a Bulls fan by his own admission despite growing up in their arch-rival's city, he took the number 23 and started his own clothing line.

Bryant on the other hand in an interview with Magic said he hates the MJ comparisons and he is just trying to be the best he can be, which I believe is the closest thing to Jordan we have ever seen, albeit not close at all.

I am curious at how he is going to be the next Magic though. Please explain, Jared.

  3. P.S. You cant say someone cares more about money than winning when they are making $110 Million, it's not like he made a big compromise.

  4. I think Jared was referring to the fact LBJ may have to be more of a passer now with the Heat and play more of a Magic style. Kobe may be the closest but regardless who compares themselves to him or who the media labels the next Jordan there will never be another MJ just like there will never be another Gretzky or Ruth. I'm sorry that's just how it is.

Also, yeah LBJ was a Bulls fan but he grew up in the 90's and was a Bulls, Yankees, and Cowboys fan. He was just a front runner. If he followed hockey I'm sure he would have been a RedWings fan. He worshiped Jordan and picked his number but even if he did aspire to be the next MJ a little the media blew it up to insane levels.
